It does the job pretty well
Ive been a Sling customer since they came out of beta last year (?). The service itself has gotten a lot better since its rocky beginnings. I have had high quality service for the past six months. Ill limit any criticism to the app.
The app itself works fine. It does have some quirks. The one that stands out for me is something as simple as changing the channel. I cant seem to find a simple way to do this within the app. I currently have to tap about three times with corresponding screens between each of them.
The quality of the playback and the apps responsiveness is good, even before T-Mobile compressed the stream in exchange for not having it go against my data usage.
Im not really understanding some of the negative reviews since my experience is so vastly different.
