Glitchy, difficult to navigate, needs work!
This sounded like a promising app, I figured it would be a good companion app to my Hulu Plus service, but so far (day 2 of my 7-day free trial) Im not very impressed. The app is not user friendly, its extremely difficult to navigate through the icons and screens to see what programs are available, and its very glitchy. There are very, very few archived episodes of programs, so if you purchase this service thinking that youll be able to go back and catch up on a series, forget it. Movie list is not much better than Hulus, and movies are apparently an additional $3 (I only know this from reading another review, because when I select a movie, I get a "How do I watch this movie?" button that does nothing when I click on it). Commercials are endless and repetitive, and they seem to come on randomly about every 3-5 minutes during a program. The apps search function is useless; for example, if I type in "Dance Moms" there are zero results, yet the program is in the guide listings for Tuesday nights on LMN. As far as being a replacement for cable, Id say there are scarely enough channels on the basic plan to make that claim, and the ones they do have are loaded with paid programming and shows that repeat. Several other reviewers mentioned that they were billed when they canceled after their 7-day free trial, and that Slings customer service was poor in getting that resolved. (I WILL be on the lookout for that kind of crap, and if that happens Ill just skip customer service and dispute the charge through my card issuer instead - thanks for the heads up, reviewers.) I only gave the app a second star because it does play pretty well on my iPad, and Im using it over the AT&T 4G/LTE network, as we live in a rural area and dont have any home internet or wi-fi. So theres that.
