UPDATED: A Work In Progress; In The Right Direction
UPDATED: Buffering problems are history and reliable streaming is the standard of the day, day after day and at anytime of the day. Truly a reliable live streaming option to cable and satellite services. Updated to four stars.

Using the App for the trial service on an iPhone 6S, an iPad 4th generation, an iPad Pro, and both the 32GB and the 64GB Apple TV fourth generation models was an exercise with more pleasure than pain. The devices with the Sling TV App were connected by 5.0Ghz WiFi at ~200Mbs.
The Sling TV App works just fine.
The streaming service needs greater reliability.
The App UI is not particularly slick or especially innovative, but it is functional, becomes familiar to use in no time at all, and does have some nice options for previewing the current and upcoming schedule without leaving the program being currently watched.
The Sling TV service delivering the content stream is either rock solid or an on again, off again, on again, off again buffering interrupting annoyance. Most of the time, the performance is solid; during those times that the streaming is interrupted, it is frustrating beyond common patience.
Having "cut the cord" in 2006 and then easing into paying for Netflix and Hulu as those services evolved, adding Sling TV as an additional paid entertainment service for more television choices wasnt a quick decision and I watched far more programming during the trial period than I normally would in order to give the App and accompanying service a good workout.
Sling TV offers a good choice of networks; most of the same networks which I wouldve selected à la carte if the cable monopolies allowed such an option.
Ill manage through the occasional frustrating interruption and stay with the Sling TV as it continues to more fully develop.
